18 years behind a Dollar Tree register

The bad buys aren't hidden. They sit one shelf over from the good ones.

My never-again list, all written down. Every aisle: what I'd buy, what I'd leave on the shelf, and what I'd get instead. More than 100 products, with photos.

Lorraine Carter
Who wrote it

Hey y'all, it's Lorraine.

I ran a Dollar Tree store in a small town in Georgia for eighteen years. The register, the stockroom, the schedule and the shelves. I saw what sold out by Tuesday noon, what came back to my counter, and what people wished they'd never bought.

By my stockroom door sat a cart of everything that came back. Can openers, almost every week. The good stuff never came back once. I kept a list of it on the back of a receipt in my vest pocket. This book is that list, all grown up.

I'm not here to run anybody down, not the store and not the brands. I loved that store. I just want you to keep more of your money.

A few honest answers

I watch your videos for free. Why buy the book?

A video covers one shelf. The book is every aisle in one place, more than 100 products with photos, plus my rules, the calendar and the printable lists. It's what I'd hand you if you followed me around the store. You can have it open on your phone while you shop.

Is it a paper book?

No, it's a PDF, so nothing ships. You read it on your phone, tablet or computer. Print only the pages you want, like the store visit card or the winter list.

I'm not good with computers. Is it hard to get?

If you can watch my videos, you can read this. Tap "Get the book", pay, and the book opens right away. You also get an email with a link, so it's always there. Can't find it? Write to [email protected] and I'll send it again.

Will I be charged every month?

No. It's $19 one time. The monthly update page is free and comes to you in the same place you got the book.

Why does checkout show a different currency?

Gumroad sometimes shows the price in your own money. The book is $19 in US dollars.

Can I share it with my sister?

Print her the lists, honey. That's what they're for. Just please don't post the PDF online.

Are the prices the same at my store?

Prices and stock change, and every store is different. The prices in the book are what I saw on Dollar Tree's website when I wrote it. Check your store.

Is this health or safety advice?

No. I talk about price, size, the package and what I saw come back to my register. That's what I know.
